Medium of instruction: Japanese
Language requirement: N2 level in Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)

Overview of the School of Engineering

Artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and other new information science subjects have been added to our curriculum. To meet the social needs of AI engineers as AI technology progresses, we have enhanced our information science subjects in all departments of the school since academic year 2020.
Students acquire reliable basic skills and then hone their expertise in engineering. Our curriculum is designed to enable students to learn mathematics, fundamental physics, programming, and other basic engineering skills in a cross-sectoral manner.
We emphasize practical education that is based on our advanced research activities. Students are expected to acquire advanced expertise and practical skills by way of not only experiments and seminar topics but also the Project Research Program, where they conduct experiments and research in laboratories at the initial stage and then collaborate with business communities.
We recommend that our students proceed to graduate school to acquire more advanced expertise and skills. We offer a 6-year educational system comprising undergraduate and graduate programs to develop professionals capable of combining multiple technologies for further advanced technologies.

Features of the School of Engineering

Department of Mechanical and Systems Engineering

Location: Nagoya Campus

This program comprises three course models, namely, (1) the "Mechatronics" model that serves as the basis for manufacturing, (2) the "Robotics" model that combines mechanical engineering and information technology (IT), and (3) the "Intelligence System" model that features human information, AI, and control theory.
In addition to course subjects serving as the foundation for mechanical engineering and information science, we also offer a wide variety of experiments and seminar topics. Through the Project Research Program and the experience-based classes wherein students will be involved in designing, processing, and assembling products, we also aim to develop highly skilled, industry-ready engineers for the manufacturing sector.

Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Location: Nagoya Campus

This program is composed of three course models, namely, (1) the "Control and Mechatronics" model that combines machinery, electricity, and IT, (2) the "Electronics" model that is intended for the design and application of electronic and digital circuits and semiconductors, and (3) the "Communication" model that aims to develop next-generation networks and wireless communication technologies.
After learning the basics of information science and experiment-based engineering, students will be engaged in manufacturing training and the Project Research Program. In doing so, students will be able to acquire the knowledge and practical skills to work on the frontlines of the rapidly evolving electrical and electronic industries.

Department of Information Engineering

Location: Toyota Campus

This program is composed of three course models, namely, (1) the "Computer Engineering" model that focuses on hardware, software, and information system development, (2) the "Artificial Intelligence and Data Science" model that covers AI and data science technologies, and (3) the "Web Network" model that explores web and network technologies.
With the core aim of cultivating programming skills, we develop engineers who are equipped with extensive knowledge of IT and are capable of scientifically analyzing and understanding reality. These future engineers are expected to play an active role in the fields of computer science, AI, and network.

Department of Media Engineering

Location: Toyota Campus

This program comprises two course models based on data science and AI, namely, (1) the "Media Technology" model that features video and audio processing technologies and (2) the "Media Design" model that focuses on information design and expression techniques.
While learning data science, AI, programming, web technology, and other core subjects, students are expected to acquaint themselves with computer graphics, virtual reality, mixed reality, and various other media technologies and design thinking. We aim to foster engineers capable of developing systems for information expression and contributing to society.
